Master Gardening
The Master Gardener Program is a nationwide program. In Wisconsin it is an organization of volunteers in horticulture. After training in all aspects of gardening through the University of Wisconsin-Extension, members are certified as Master Gardeners.
Gardeners become involved
in educating other members of their communities,
answering questions and providing information,
whether at local gardening events, special
workshops, or on UW-Extension supported garden phone
lines. Master Gardeners present talks on
perennials, plant propagation, native plants, and
other topics for various groups throughout the
state. They also undertake projects to
beautify their communities, as was the case with the
Price County Historical Society's Greenfield School
next to the Old Fifield Town Hall Museum.
